【摘要】:Theamountandsizedistributionofnoncarbonate(insoluble)materialincarbonateaggregatesisofinteresttothoseconductingresearchonthepolishsusceptibilityofstoneusedinpavementsoronthefrictionpropertiesofpavementsurfaces.Inaddition,someagenciesutilizethetestforacceptancepurposestodelineatecarbonateaggregatesthatpolishexcessivelyandbecomeslipperyandthosethatwillnot.Note18212;Thequalityoftheresultsproducedbythisstandardaredependentuponthecompetenceofthepersonnelperformingtheprocedureandthecapability,calibration,andthemaintenanceoftheequipmentused.AgenciesthatmeetthecriteriaofPracticeD3666aregenerallyconsideredcapableofcompetentandobjectivetesting/sampling/inspection/etc.UsersofthisstandardarecautionedthatcompliancewithPracticeD3666alonedoesnotcompletelyassurereliableresults.Reliableresultsdependonmanyfactors:followingthesuggestionsofPracticeD3666orsimilaracceptableguidelineprovidesameansofevaluatingandcontrollingsomeofthosefactors.1.1Thistestmethodcoversdeterminationofthepercentageofinsolubleresidueincarbonateaggregatesusinghydrochloricacidsolutiontoreactthecarbonates.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Regardingsieves,perSpecificationE11,x201C;ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsshallbeconsideredstandardforthedimensionsofthewireclothopeningsandthediameterofthewiresusedinthewirecloth.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsshallbeconsideredstandardwithregardtothesieveframes.x201D;Whensievemeshsizesarereferenced,thealternateinch-pounddesignationsareprovidedforinformationpurposesandenclosedinparentheses.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecificprecautionstatementsaregiveninSection7.
