【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesameansofevaluatingacousticemissionsgeneratedbytherapidreleaseofenergyfromlocalizedsourceswithinanaerialpersonneldeviceundercontrolledloading.Theresultantenergyreleasesoccurduringintentionalapplicationofacontrolledpredeterminedload.Theseenergyreleasescanbemonitoredandinterpretedbyqualifiedindividuals.Thistestmethodpermitstestingofthemajorcomponentsofanaerialpersonneldeviceundercontrolledloading.Thistestmethodutilizesobjectivecriteriaforevaluationandmaybediscontinuedatanytimetoinvestigateaparticularareaofconcernorpreventafaultfromcontinuingtoultimatefailure.Thistestmethodprovidesameansofdetectingacousticemissionsourcesthatmaybedefectsorirregularities,orboth,affectingthestructuralintegrityorintendeduseoftheaerialpersonneldevice.Sourcesofacousticemissionfoundwiththistestmethodshallbeevaluatedbyeithermorerefinedacousticemissiontestmethodsorothernondestructivetechniques(visual,liquidpenetrant,radiography,ultrasonics,magneticparticle,etc.).Othernondestructivetestsmayberequiredtolocatedefectspresentinaerialpersonneldevices.Defectiveareasfoundinaerialpersonneldevicesbythistestmethodshouldberepairedandretestedasappropriate.Repairprocedurerecommendationsareoutsidethescopeofthistestmethod.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesaprocedurefornon-destructivetestingusingacousticemission(AE)testingforinsulatedandnon-insulatedaerialpersonneldeviceswhichdonothaveasupplementalloadhandlingattachment.1.1.1EquipmentCovered8212;Thistestmethodcoversthefollowingtypesofvehicle-mountedinsulatedaerialpersonneldevices:1.1.1.1Extensibleboomaerialpersonneldevices,1.1.1.2Articulatingboomaerialpersonneldevices,and1.1.1.3Anycombinationof1.1.1.1and1.1.1.2.1.1.2EquipmentNotCovered8212;Thistestmethoddoesnotcoveranyofthefollowingequipment:Material-handlingaerialdevices,Digger-derrickswithplatform,andCraneswithplatform.1.2TheAEtestmethodisusedtodetectandarea-locateemissionsources.Verificationofemissionsourcesmayrequiretheuseofothernondestructivetest(NDT)methods,suchasradiography,ultrasonics,magneticparticle,liquidpenetrant,andvisualinspection.Warning8212;Thistestmethodrequiresthatexternalloadsbeappliedtothesuperstructureofthevehicleundertest.Duringthetest,cautionmustbetakentosafeguardpersonnelandequipmentagainstunexpectedfailureorinstabilityofthevehicleorcomponents.Note18212;ThistestmethodisnotintendedtobeastandaloneNDTmethodfortheverificationofthestructuralintegrityofanaerialdevice.OtherNDTmethodsshouldbeusedtosupplementtheresults.1.3Thevaluesgivenininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.TheSIunitsgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
